Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Mask
The mask-erade continues… At The Bad Ass Writer, we’re on the search for the perfect mask, and we may be getting closer. The Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Mask smells so very delicious (you’ll want to eat it) and not only that but it feels oddly soothing and comforting as it rests on your face.
Skinfood’s Black Sugar Cleansing skin care line is an aromatic, exfoliating, and moisturizing cleansing line with organic black sugar that is enriched with vitamins and minerals to hydrate and nourish skin. Perhaps this is why this mask is so nice and comforting! Its scent reminds me of the honey cakes my old great-aunt used to bake at her house in California…
What I love about the Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Mask:
- A wash-off mask featuring organic black sugar granules for exfoliation. Rich, decadent honey softens skin for a clean, smooth complexion.
- From South Korea
- Easy to use–after cleansing, massage gently into damp skin, or mix with water/cosmetic water and apply. Avoid skin around the eyes and lips. After 10-15 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.
- Hypoallergenic formula designed for delicate and sensitive facial skin
- Smells wonderful!
- Very hydrating
- Affordable
According to the label, this is an ‘exfoliating mask that contains mineral-rich Brazilian black sugar and moisturizing honey for soft, glowing skin.’ You are meant to shake this tub to mix the top and bottom layers first before applying it, massaging into your face and then leaving it on for 10-15 minutes (I always do 15 minutes).
As a result, the exfoliation for this was very gentle and while I don’t feel it removed much dead skin, the honey left my skin feeling hydrated and moist afterwards. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue but, perhaps because of the honey, it is a bit diffucult to completely cleanse off. I feel that this is something I could use several times a week and not worry about over exfoliating my skin. I like the way this product makes my skin feel. Would you give it a try?
