    How to be “Nose to Toes” Fabulous for the Rest of Your Life

    Today there are too many reasons that we find to diminish ourselves, to not shine, and to not be the healthiest, happiest version of ourselves.  In a society with filtered selfies and self-proclaimed Instagram models, we let others determine our worth and how we feel about ourselves. We then act according to their idea of us and not who we truly are. These others can be voices that you have carried from your childhood telling you that you are not enough—not thin enough, smart enough, and so on—or they may be voices or circumstances today constantly pointing out areas that they feel are lacking. So you withdraw, bury your music, hide your light, and give away your power. You forfeit your right to be your best self, and it shows up in the extra weight you carry, the sleepless nights, the chronic illness, and your lack of joy and health.

    Opening up the conversation of true beauty and acceptance, Eudene Harry MD writes her latest book, Be Iconic: Healthy and Sexy at any Age, Volume 1.  Discussing that your diminished self-worth and confidence shows up in a variety of ways, Dr. Harry offers an all-encompassing guide to your health. She asks readers to redefine their sexy—you don’t have to be perfect—and how the negative chatter about yourself is diminishing your health. Be Iconic is for anyone beginning their wellness journey and details practical ways to achieve healthy hair, eyes, and skin based on Dr. Harrys personal experiences and years of practicing medicine.

    “I wrote this book because I want to give you the power to take your life back and say, ‘I am more than you can ever imagine because what you call flaws are well-placed facets that when polished will blind you with their brilliance. I am #PerfectlyFlawed.’”

    In this motivating and inspirational workbook, Be Iconic explores:

    * Sexy doesn’t mean perfect! Five ways to know what makes you sexy

    * How patterns of negative thoughts diminish your health

    * The connection between beauty and sleep

    * Tips for beautiful hair for the aging woman

    * Minimally invasive techniques to love the skin you’re in

    * And, so much more!

    Offering a skin routine that address the comprehensive needs of your skin, Dr. Harry discusses how to achieve healthy skin without the use of botox and fillers that produce long-term results. Including, wearing 30 SPF or higher while applying a thick layer – research has shown people do not apply enough – eating foods high in antioxidants, such as brightly colored vegetables and fruits, have been linked to improved skin quality and texture and help you to get your glow on, and much more.

    I enjoyed this book mainly for its easy to understand advice in how to best take care of hair, eyes and skin. Harry shares her in-depth knowledge here on how to make the most of what you have, and the importance of prevention. She urges you to love the skin you’re in and gives you medical advice on how to achieve your best complexion. She talks about the structural integrity of the skin, how it ages and what you can do about it. For example, while it’s true that food choices, activity and stress levels contribute to premature aging of the skin, the good news is that we are able to take steps to protect our skin and help it deflect some of the ravishes of time.
