Give your skin some
love this winter!
This morning I got into the shower and looked at my legs. Gasp! What happened? They are all dried out! Thanks winter weather.
It’s no fun having alligator skin, so if you’re like me with dry skin, I hope you consider featuring a vegan, cruelty free body care line called IDA BODY CARE, with clean, essential-oil based care.
An all-female company, three generations in the making, it was created and founded by Vicki Weaver Payne. Vicki started this body line in honor of her mother, Ida. She works with her mother’s original body lotion formula using natural ingredients and essential oils. “It’s formulated specifically for dry and fatigued skin—skin that’s been doing. Building. Making. Creating,” Vicki continues. “Ida exists to support doers. Women and men who are seizing the moment to create incredible businesses, families and lives that have purpose.”
Vicki took her mother’s formula and created an even more natural pure/clean product for the body. “I work with 18 natural ingredients and essential oils in designing my products. 95 percent of all my ingredients are of natural origin,” she adds.

Ida Body Care features four products: Dry Brush, Body Wash, Body Scrub and Body Lotion. Each product performs equally well on the body, but for best results, she recommends using the four-step body treatment.
Badass Special: Ida Body Care: 4-Step Treatment Available in 8oz size for $80 and 4oz size for $50
Dry Brush: Dry brushing is a thing, and for good reasons. It helps by gently exfoliating skin, deeply cleaning pores, stimulating capillaries and improving circulation. Best followed by a shower or bath. Dry skin brushing is one of the best ways to cleanse the skin without removing the protective mantle of acids and oils. Used throughout history in many diverse cultures, dry skin brushing has been practiced as a preventative for dry skin and a way to exfoliate the body, thus simulating skin renewal. MSRP: $10.00
Body Wash: Their creamy body wash elevates your skin to a new level of clean with a formula of 13 natural and essential oils including Jojoba oil, Argan Kernel oil and Sweet Almond oil. Ida believed the proof is in the ingredients. That’s why we only use natural and essential oils. This gentle and creamy body wash is her special formula to cleanse and revive, so you’re ready for what’s next. MSRP: $22.00 for 8 oz; and $12.00 for 4 oz.
Body Scrub: Their Sugar Scrub is my favorite product in this line and it’s Ida’s secret step to maximize hydration. She created it with natural sugar and 12 essential oils including anti-aging powerhouses like Avocado oil, Evening Primrose oil and Apricot Kernel oil. Your skin will never feel the same. Ida’s body scrub is made from a blend of natural sugar and 12 essential oils! It stimulates the skin, activating and cleansing it, so you feel revived and ready. MSRP: $24.00 for 8 oz; and $12.50 for 4 oz.
Body Lotion: Ida developed this lotion with 18 natural and essential oils plus collagen protectors like Coconut oil, Shea Butter, and Sunflower Seed oil. Apply it in the same way she lived her life—generously. It’s a formula first perfected by my mom, Ida. It’s purpose is the same today as it was 50 years ago: to revive your fatigued skin, so you can get back to it. MSRP: $24.00 for 8 oz; and $12.00 for 4 oz.
The line features a verbena citrus scent. “Our Verbena Citrus, sometimes called lemon verbena, has a zesty, sweet scent of lemon. The joy of Verbena Citrus is the engaging lemony smell that leaps from the light green leaves of the aromatic herb,” Vicki explains. “The lemon verbena essential oil is used as the bouquet in our products and will disseminate, allowing you to wear your favorite fragrance.”

All About Dry Brushing and Why You Should do it Daily
Dry skin brushing is a healthy treatment for exfoliating your skin, stimulating capillary and lymphatic circulation and promoting skin beauty. Dry brushing is one of the 4-steps featured in the new clean, vegan, cruelty free body care line–Ida Body Care.
You have to think of dry skin brushing as another major tool in your beauty toolbox, according to Ida Body Care Founder & Creator Vicki Weaver Payne. “Dry brushing is one of the best ways to cleanse the skin without removing the protective mantel of acids and oils,” she describes. “It gently and effectively removes the top layer of dead skin cells and deeply cleanses the pores. Dry brushing has been practiced for centuries as a preventative for dry skin and a way to exfoliate the body, thus stimulating skin renewal.”
Dry skin brushing, meaning not in the bath or shower, can change the health of the whole body. Here are just a few of the benefits:
- Tightens skin
- Aids in digestion
- Reduces cellulite
- Stimulates circulation
- Increases cell renewal
- Clean lymphatic system
- Removes dead skin
- Strengthens immune system
- Improves exchange between cells
- Soothes and tones skin
- Stimulates hormones and oil producing glands
- Increases relaxation
How to Dry Brush Your Body
Always body brush on dry skin, followed by a shower or bath. As a general guide start at the feet and ankles working up the body using brush strokes in one upward motion toward the heart. More detailed steps available at www.idabodycare.com.
Final thoughts
Fun, effective and affordable—IDA Body Care is a real winner. It feels so wonderful to dry brush your body before your bath or shower, and then when you use the body wash and the body scrub, to be followed by their lotion, you’ll feel nicely moisturized and you skin will be left with super-softness and a soft, lemon verbena scent.
