Book Review–A Medieval Tale: First Lessons By Lina J. Potter

Step back in time…

I don’t often do reviews on fiction, but this book caught my attention as one of Russia’s finest.

One of the most published and widely talked-about romantic fantasy authors in Russia follows Aliya, a beautiful, sporty, medical school graduate after her sudden death in a car crash as she is transported into the Medieval ages and “reborn” into the body of a heavy-set Countess named Lilian.

Struggling to adapt her modern worldview but realizing she has been given another opportunity at life, the protagonist of A Medieval Tale must use her mind and skills in a society where women are oppressed, protect herself from assassination attempts, and connect with such characters as noblemen, peasants, sea raiders, members of the Royal Family…and her own errant husband.

Aliya, now Lilian, has to find her own way, facing many difficulties and becoming a self-made woman of the Medieval times.

First Lessons  is the first of five volumes in Potter’s bestselling A Medieval Tale series, and sure to make Lina J.Potter as beloved by English-language romantic fantasy readers as she is by Russians.
