I’ve kept a journal ever since I was a little girl. It amuses and surprises me when I look back into an old diary and read what I’ve written 40 years ago. Heck, it’s even entertaining when I look at last year’s journal and see how far I’ve come.

Do you keep a journal? Do you ever run out of ideas on what to write? Well that challenge, my friend, is solved for you by Fox Chapel, a publishing house known for their high-quality artisan books. This year, they decided to offer journals that are anything but ordinary. They have just released faith-based journals, zentangle notebooks, inspirational journals, and a highly-anticipated line of Woodstock (yes, that Woodstock) inspired journals.

This is an exciting time to release Woodstock products as the music festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019. These journals will show off a mixture of Woodstock-inspired artwork and actual photographs from the event. The journals range from blank spreads ideal for bullet-journaling to lined notebooks decorated with quotes that will bring you back to the days of flower power.

In addition, faith-based journals are also expected to do well. There are guided devotionals, prayer journals and scripture journals. This piggyback’s on the success of Fox Chapel’s faith-based craft books last year.

“As Fox Chapel Publishing expands into the journal market, it gives us an opportunity to greater serve our customers,” comments Chris Reggio, Director of product development and editorial operations. “Our beautiful journals not only make lovely gifts, they will also suit every occasion—from jotting down daily errands to expressing the happy milestones in life.”

My favorite journal from Fox Chapel Publishing is their Follow Your Bliss journal. It shows off a gorgeous, colorful hardcover with a vibrant mandala featured inside. This is not your run-of-the-mill blank journal. Not at all! It is filled with writing prompts accompanied by lovely illustrations. Some of the writing prompts/questions highlighted include:

  • You’ve just received some exciting news. Who’s the first person you tell? Why?
  • What have you worked the hardest for?
  • What is your earliest memory?
  • You just got a promotion! How would you like to celebrate?
  • You can send your teenage self a letter with one piece of advice in it. What do you write?
  • Who is your biggest hero? Why?
  • What can you do better than anyone else?
  • For whom are you grateful? When was the last time you talked to them?

And so much more…You can see why this type of journal is such a delight to write in. You can really hunker down, dig deep and write about what really matters to you.

Do you like to write in your journal? How often? What seems to be the topics you write most about?
